AMRITA INTERNATIONAL VIDYALAYAM
project Description
Amrita International Vidyalayam required the development of 2 outdoor basketball courts and 4 multi-sport badminton courts across their ICSE and IB blocks to support Physical Education sessions for students from kindergarten to high school. The project focused on creating safe, sustainable, and multi-functional infrastructure to maximize utility while ensuring durability and low maintenance.

CHALLENGES
During the testing and planning stages, several challenges were identified, including the lack of an adequate water drainage system, undulations in the sub-base, sharp edges at the culvert posing safety risks, and damaged fencing and wiring impacting the facility’s functionality.
- Multi-Sport Usage Requirements: Maximizing utility without compromising performance.
- Weather Conditions: Ensuring the surface remained playable during rain to avoid downtime.
- High Traffic Durability: Infra to withstand heavy usage during PE, functions, and Assembly.
- Transforming: Curating Central Court Yard, Landscape ponds to Multi-sport/purpose courts.
Solution
To address these issues, the project incorporated solutions such as creating grooves for quick water drainage, leveling and repairing the sub-base to meet FIFA standards, and rectifying sharp edges to ensure player safety. The damaged fencing and wiring were replaced, enhancing the infrastructure’s security and durability.
