Maintenance Manual for Spray Coated Synthetic Running Track

Surface Cleaning

Procedure:
Sweep the track with a soft-bristled broom to collect debris.
Use a vacuum cleaner or blower to remove finer particles from the track surface.
For stubborn dirt, use a non-abrasive scrubber with clean water to gently clean the area. Avoid using harsh chemicals.

Weekly Maintenance

Inspection

Purpose: To identify and address any early signs of wear or damage.
Equipment Needed:
- Visual inspection tools (flashlight, magnifying glass)
Procedure:
1. Inspect the entire track surface for signs of wear, cracks, or other damage.
2. Pay special attention to high-traffic areas and edges.

Monthly Maintenance

Detailed Cleaning and Anti-Mold Treatment

Product: Dr. Fixit Biowash or equivalent
Equipment Needed:
- Sprayer
- Soft-bristled scrubbers
- Clean water source
Procedure:
1. Dilute the Dr. Fixit Biowash according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Spray the solution evenly across the track surface, focusing on areas prone to moisture and shade.
3. Allow the solution to sit for 10-15 minutes.
4. Scrub the surface lightly with a soft-bristled scrubber.
5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow the surface to dry completely.

UV Protective Coating Check

Product: Asian Paints SmartCare Damp Proof or Berger WeatherCoat Long Life 10
Equipment Needed:
- Visual inspection tools
Procedure:
1. Check the track surface for any signs of UV damage or coating wear.
2. If necessary, schedule a re-application of the UV protective coating.

Quarterly Maintenance

Surface Repair

Product: PU Track Repair Kit
Equipment Needed:
- Mixing tools
- Trowel
- Sanding equipment
Procedure:
1. Clean the damaged areas thoroughly, removing any loose debris.
2. Mix the Conica PU repair material according to the product instructions.
3. Apply the repair material to the damaged area with a trowel, ensuring it is even with the surrounding surface.
4. Allow the material to cure as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
5. Sand the repaired area to level it with the rest of the track surface.

Bi-Annual Maintenance

Full Track Resurfacing and Recoating

Product: Mapei Elastocolor Protective Coating or similar
Equipment Needed:
- Sprayer or roller
- Clean water source
- Safety gear (gloves, masks)
Procedure:
1. Clean the track thoroughly to remove all dirt, debris, and previous coatings.
2. Dilute the protective coating as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Apply the first coat evenly across the track surface using a sprayer or roller.
4. Allow the first coat to dry completely.
5. Apply a second coat if required, ensuring even coverage and a seamless finish.
6. Allow the coating to cure as per the manufacturer’s instructions before resuming use.

Seasonal Maintenance

Monsoon Season (June-August)

Purpose: To address the increased risk of mold, mildew, and algae growth due to high humidity and rainfall.
Product: Dr. Fixit Biowash or equivalent
Equipment Needed:
- Sprayer
- Soft-bristled scrubber
- Water source
Procedure:
1. Apply Dr. Fixit Biowash to areas prone to moisture and shade following the cleaning procedure outlined earlier.
2. Monitor the track surface regularly for signs of algae or mold.
3. Repeat the treatment as necessary to maintain a clean and safe surface.
